Nope, I never did find a good-progressive style alarm clock. I thought about ordering one of these, but never got around to it;

My new apartment gets a lot more light in the morning so I've found myself now starting to wake more naturally.

I agree with the review, the alarm puts you into cardiac arrest when it finally does go off, I too was disappointed that you couldn't just use the ambient sound with the progressive light. Finally, the light is just way to bright. It seems they must not have used these in homes to pilot the product. So many things are counter-intuitive the PEACEFUL claim.
It's a shame.

I've actually enjoyed mine. I agree that it's got some quirks, but the only one that affects me is the super-bright display. Part of the theory behind this type of clock is that you wake up BEFORE the alarm actually goes off. I usually wake up about 20 min. after the light comes on, about 5 min. after the sounds come on. This does not work for my wife, however. I had an alarm that would start really quiet and gradually emit a beeping with the volume of an air-horn, to the point that neighbors would complain if we went out of town and forgot to turn it off. This still would not wake up my wife. She needs to be jolted out of sleep. The gradual light and sound do serve to bring her into a shallower sleep though, so when the alarm does "suddenly" go off, it's not quite as jarring of and experience for her.

Hi Andrew, I'm really pleased you wrote this review. As you say we look for stuff that looks cool but are only able to review (well afford) a fraction of the stuff we feature. It's really interesting reading what somebody who actually has the product and has played with it really thinks of it, so thanks a lot and I'll be sure to add a comment and link to our original posting back to here so others can read a proper review as such,

Thanks again.
