I have been using Google voice for about 3 weeks now. It seems to work very well.

Can’t wait until they get SMS to work with services such as Skype. That will basically give you Skype-in for free.

I like how you can have Google call a number and then connect you free (in the US) to a long distance number.

Oops, I forgot I got a Gvoice invite a week ago. Set up was pretty easy. I’ll test it with my cell first to try it out.

I’ve been cell only for 6 years, but recently picked up a MagicJack. Works pretty good so far as a spare home line.

I’ve been interested in Gvoice. I’ll give it a read and see if it’s right for me.

I love SKYPE just for this reason. And since there is the law of number portability, I switch over the numbers I want to a cellular provider.

I do have to brag about my number though….

Freaky! 1394 are the last four digits of my new home phone number in SF too. Mine was just by coincidence, though when I saw them I immediately had the same thought and a small chuckle

When I signed up for my landline, I was given like 4 or 6 numbers to choose from. If I refreshed the page, it gave me new choices.

Eventually, one of the numbers ended in 1394, so now I tell people that my phone number “ends in Firewire”.
