For Thanksgiving, my girlfriend and I flew to the East Coast for a week. We spent a few days in Washington DC with her family, then caught the train to New York to spend a long weekend with one of our friends who moved there recently.

New York was great fun. It was my first time visiting, and while we tried to see as many of the sites as possible, I was happy to just wander around and look at the architecture. While I love the weather in LA, it was great to be back in a pedestrian-filled city full of independent shops and real bars.

While we were at the Rockefeller Center we popped into the Nintendo World store. Aside from demonstration models there wasn’t a Wii to be seen, but the did have some display cases full of great nostalgia items.

Nothing says “smash and grab” like a Gold Triforce SP signed by Miyamoto
